Almost all of the treasure, 1982 pieces, was acquired by the Section history of the Grand-Ducal Institute. Many "duplicate" copies were used for exchange purposes, so that the State Museum's Medal Cabinet, where the Historical Section's medalist is kept, has only 1,192 specimens left.
