Site comment

It is a small atrium house, located to the south of the house of Obellio Firmo, on the southern side of Insula 14, which represents the southern boundary of the excavation. Lo Spinazzola describes it as "an old small dwelling in Sarnese blocks, already anciently battered, patched up, and repainted." On April 30, 1911, a hoard of 7 bronze imperial coins, consisting exclusively of asses, 4 of which are from Claudius, was discovered. The pieces were found above the layer of lapilli, near 7 human skeletons, which were concentrated in an area of about 1 m², in the jaws of the house, probably having fallen from the upper floor after the collapse of the factory. Along with the coins, there was an elegant iron-bladed razor with an ivory handle, 2 gold rings, an iron bezel of a ring with carnelian, and 8 perforated glass paste beads.
