Summary

A hoard of at least 39 reformed AR tetradrachms of Uranius Antoninus (253/4, all minted in Emesa, modern Homs), dispersed in commerce in Mai 1970 (Europe) and June 1970 (US). Its provenance is unknown, though the coins could be traced back to the antiquity market in Beirut (Lebanon). A findspot in northern Lebanon or more probably in western Syria is to be assumed. 39 coins could be recorded, but the size of the hoard was larger (50-55+ specimens).
