Mr. Ažman brought 3 coins to Janko Šašel with the information that they were given to him by a local beggar from Mokronog who found them in the forest. Ažman and Šašel went with the beggar to the spot in the forest and they found out that the beggar has been finding coins on the location for years and that in 1872 someone named Kušljin found a pocket full of coins there. They found another couple of coins and Šašel came to the conclusion that because of the terrain the water was removing the soil and bringing the coins to light. A couple of days later Šašel started digging on the location and found more coins in the soil. Deeper underground he found a pot that was filled with coins, however, due to its bad condition it was destroyed upon discovery. Altogether there were between 4000-4500 coins, all bronze, only one silver (Saloninus). A few days later Mr. Berg was also digging on the location and found another pot which was only filled with dirt. The hoard is largely dispersed or lost. Brunšmid had seen the hoard and was able to partially document it.
