It is assumed that the coins are tetradrachms, as it appeared in a discussion of similar tetradrachm hoards to the one found in Gush Ḥalav. Hamburger introduced the hoard as "coins" rather than "tetradrachms". Kadman described the coins as AR and Bill. with tetradrachm specified as one type.
