Summary

A hoard of 1074 AE. The coins were found in a broken pot during excavations by the University of Michigan in the filling of Room D (House 137) at floor level. The hoard comprised 2 Greek coins, 2 Roman provincial coins, 777 late Roman imperial coins, 112 barbarous imitations, and 181 cast imitations. The hoard was published twice: by Milne in 1926 and by Haatvedt et al. in 1964. The list given here follows Noeske 2000, pp. 260-270 (after Milne 1926).

The findspot provided here follows “2. Hoard of Minimi from House 137“, on p. 71 of Milne and Hayter 1933. In the introduction of Milne and Hayter 1933 (p. 59), “Hoard II” is initially assigned to House 113, Room D. However, in the summarized report “2. Hoard of Minimi from House 137" (p. 71), Hoard II is instead assigned to House 137. All following publications uniformly assigned the findspot to House 137, therefore the findspot provided here reflects this consensus.
