Summary

A hoard of 'some 700 Roman copper coins' of the time of Constantine I, said to have been found in a box during building work, excavating the the site of a new hotel in Tavistock Square, Bloomsbury. 667 were listed by H. Mattingly, with rulers and mints. It is said that the hoard included also a base denarius of Lucius Verus, and a billon antoninus of Claudius II (JRS, XIV (1924), 229f.).
