Summary

The hoard comprised a copper vessel filled with a large quantity of Roman coins including a denarius of Geta. Falconnet reports that there were also several bronze basins which contained several 100 silver coins (denarii and radiates of 'Livie', 'Julie', Geta and others with the latest coins being of Postumus. The hoard was found in unknown circumstances by a villager. In 1843, the two 'bassins' were in the Collection Comarmond in Lyon. At the time of TAF's publication (1987), one was in the British Museum.
