Total number of coins
A very large hoard of denarii of Juba II found in Banasa (and not in Ksar el-Kebir as initially thought), comprising several thousand coins (4'000 or possibly more) ending in AD 17/18 (regnal year 42). The coins are said to have been found in three large jars. The find was rapidly dispersed, but a number of coins were bought by international numismatic museums.
