Summary

During various excavations at the Neolithic site (from 1842 to 1969) 25 Roman coins - ranging from Domitian to Arcadius - were found together with other artefacts (rings, brooches). Among coins were, eight gold pieces presented here: Tetrarchy - Theodosius I. Also three uniface gold medallions of the House of Constantine were found (see Objects). All the coins and artefacts are considered to be votive offerings (Bland/Loriot 2010, 99). The deposit also included one denarius of Geta and two small AE coins (unident.).

Gold unifaced medallion Constantine II (Caesar). Obv.: FL CL CONSTANTINVS IVN NOB C, bust, helmeted, cuirassed, seen from front, right. Rev.: blank. Pierced twice above head, with attachment loop in between.

Finger ring
Two gold finger rings, ornamented with beaded wire filigree, oval bezels, nicolo stones. Wts.: 8.48g, 11.98g.

Necklace
A necklace with hooks on end.

Bracelet
Two gold bracelets, torque type. Wts.: 20.66g, 25.7g.
