Summary

At least 3,000 denarii were found in ceramic vessel (two of silver and one of bronze, at least). A gold medallion of Jovian. Together were found silver plates. It is not clear whether there were one or two hoards discovered. The denarii run from Vespasian to Septimius Severus.

Site comment

Found during construction work on the Kovel-Lutsk railway. The coins were apparently contained in the Byzantine vessels, but a two handled bi-conical ceramic vessel is also associated with the find.
