Site comment

Hoard found in the vicus adjoining the Roman fort Vetoniana, within the inner enclosure of the Jupiter Dolichenus temple. It lay next to an earthenware vessel covered with slate slabs. This find proves that the Roman fort was destroyed by the Alamans in AD 233 (FMRD I 5, p. 71).
