Summary

A hoard of Roman bronze coins was found some 400 yards south-west of a barrow, marked as Flat Howe, and in line between this and a standing stone, also marked, on the west bank of Bluewath Beck on Glaisdale High Moor. The coins were contained in a 'skin bag', a leather container, presumably a purse of some kind, which perished after the material dried. About thirty coins were originally found. The coins were antoniniani (radiates). The 23 surviving coins: Victorinus - Tetricus I.
