Summary
An account of the discovery of an Anglo-Saxon cemetery at Offchurch, "situated between the road from Radford to Long Itchington and the Rugby and Leamington Railway, S.S.E. of the church, about 600 yards distant" in the Rep. of the Warwicks. Nat. Hist. and Arch. Soc., for 1876, gave a list of the small objects found, and concluded (40):
"There were many coins, minimi, and Roman third brass, which ought to be inspected and catalogued. These, and several fragments of a black urn, are preserved at Offchurch Bury." J. T. Burgess
VCH Warwicks., I (1904), 247, described the coins as "a number of 'third brass' of circa AD 264-400, and some minims, found probably in the neighbourhood", but did not, apparently, take the view that they were found in an Anglo-Saxon cemetery.
In 1952, Miss Jocelyn Morris, Warwicks. (County) Museum, tried in vain to trace the coins at Offchurch Bury. It therefore remains doubtful whether the coins formed a hoard, and whether they were found in association with Anglo-Saxon remains. It is also uncertain whether the so-called minims were true minims.
Late 4th century AD
The coin data of this hoard have not yet been validated and therefore are not yet visible.
