Fetching coin data
Sherds of the base of a wheel-made grey jar or beaker that contained the coins. The base terminates in a slight pedestal 37 mm wide at the base. There is also one worn sherd of another vessel of pinkish fabric.
The fragmentary finger ring is base metal (copper alloy) with traces of what appears to be a white metal coating (perhaps tinning). The surviving part consists of the bezel and most of the hoop extending from one side of the bezel, almost flattened out into a strip 35 mm long. The other side of the hoop is torn and folded over where it meets the bezel. The bezel is of one piece with the hoop but widens out to an oval shape of c. 11 mm by 13 mm. The centre of the bezel has a circular concentric design consisting of (from outside inwards) an engraved depression, a flat lip and a circular hole 2.5 mm in diameter in the centre. It is possible that the depression was filled with enamel, now lost.
