Fetching coin data
A substantial part of a large grey ware jar was found with the coins. The interior surfaces of the sherds of pottery are considerably stained through contact with the coins that were originally contained inside the pottery vessel. The sherds still have much soil adhering to them, and so can not be weighed to give the total weight of the 37 sherds recovered (+ one addendum). Most of the sherds are medium to small in size. The base and lower wall of the vessel is represented. The upper part of the vessel and its mouth are not represented by any sherds. This is probably because the pot was buried upright in the ground and the top of the pot has been removed by ploughing etc. The jar had a base 16 cm in diameter.
