Summary

Between 800 and 1000 coins (although some estimates mentioned 10,000) found in 1862 in a a coarse earthenware vase. 506 coins were described by J. Evans, ranging from Caracalla to Claudius II. From the description of reverse types given, it seems probable that the coins from Caracalla to Severus Alexander were all denarii, and those from Gordian III to Claudius II antoniniani.
