Summary

A private collection, belonging to the family of the counts Barenau (Bar zu Barenau) and catalogued in 1884 by Menadier, counting 227 coins (Republic - Valentinian I/II) of which many are local finds made in the vicinity of Barenaue, in the region of Kalkriese, or in / around Osnabrück, Lintorf, Osterkappeln, Wahlburg, Engter, and Venne. See also FMRD VII 1-3, 1061: a hoard, ending with coins AD 6, described as having been found on the the mountain range of Wiehe in the vicinity of Osnabrück in the 18th century. No further details are given, but FMRD considers this hoard to be potentially part of FMRD VII 1-3, 1016.

A hoard, ending with coins AD 6, described as having been found on the the mountain range of Wiehe in the vicinity of Osnabrück in the 18th century. No further details are given, but FMRD considers this hoard to be part of FMRD VII 1-3, 1016.
