At the time of the discovery, the findspot was located between two roads named, during the Italian occupation of the city, via Roma and via Gheribil, today Shari Omar el-Muktar and Shari Qasr Ahmed street.

Summary

The hoard originally comprised ca. 1,750 Greek/Roman republican/imperial/provincial silver and bronze coins ranging from 270 BC to the reign of Trajan (116 AD). 570 of them are know kept in the Shahat Archaeological Museum while further 84 specimens have been identified through photographic documentation.
