The date 1862 is given by Chevallier 1958, p. 22, but this is his extrapolation. Neither Guignebert nor Barrier mention the year of discovery. (Estiot 1992, p. 111)

The Gallo-Roman vicus is located southeast of Montargis, on the right bank of the Loing. This vicus covers thirty hectares within certain limits to the north by Faubourg de la Chaussée street, to the south by Prieuré street, to the west by the Loing, to the east, beyond the Paris-Nevers railway line, by the western triangle determined by the Viroy road (D .163) and the Alley Herbeuse.
Associated features

"On an area of 3 meters, besides numerous and significant debris of tiles and pottery, and more than 50 pieces of antique coins". The hoard was found in a ceramic vessel.
