Summary

The 1970 Sardes Hoard (420 coins) was found southeast of the entrance to the Synagogue in 1970. Most of these coins are dated to the fourth and fifth centuries AD. The coins had not been sealed by a container, so some of the coins listed here probably do not belong to the original hoard (see Buttrey et al., p. 123).
