A silver dish with footring & raised edge, now lost (but raised edge partly preserved when found). Rivets to repair damage. Central deco’ of Ardabvr Aspar (consul) and his young son, flanked by Roma & Constantinopolis. Also Ardabvr Aspar’s father (Ardabur) & father-in-law (Plinta). Inscription around edge ‘FL. ARDABVR ASPAR VIR INLVSTRIS COM. ET MAG. MILITVM ET CONSVL ORDINARIVS’. Inscription with son ‘ARDABVR IVNIOR PRETOR’. D. 42cm; footring (lost) 15cm.
