One opinion consider this brooch to be found at the time of the First World War at Caput Adriae, Aquileia [Italy]. Second opinion, found at Čentur near Koper [Slovenia]. According to FRMRSl I, 85; no. 62/6, the brooch was found with the hoard of aurei.
