The pot was a beaker of soft buff clay, with darker brown slip, 4 5/8 in. high and 3 1/8 in. in diameter. It had a bulbous body and rounded rim. The pewter jug, 7 3/8 in. high and 4½ in. in diameter, had a grooved handle and narrow neck. Its shape had been much distorted when the little beaker was placed inside with the coins.
