Ceramic vessel
Comment
The first pot is grey, quite pale in the break, and brittle, fired at a relatively high temperature. There is a cordon at the base of the neck; the mouth was probably curled over outwards until it was almost horizontal. The upper body is burnished, the lower body is turned, and a rough band separates them. There is also an unburnished decorative band flanked by grooves just above the belly of the pot.
