Ceramic vessel
Comment
the surviving part stands 7¾ in. high, with a diam. at the rim of about 7 in. The outbent rim, flattened on the inside, and the fabric - a hard, gritty dark grey ware, with some red patches resulting from uneven firing - indicate that the pot was of "Dales Ware", as described by J.P. Gillam, in Ant. J., XXI (1951), 154-64.
