Pot I was a narrow-necked wheel-thrown jar of dark grey coarse-grained ware with at least three shoulder grooves and a band of combed scroll, possibly emanating from the Alice Holt potteries at Farnham in Surrey, and dated to the mid-third to early fourth centuries AD.
