"The basalt block proved to be the socket of a large mill stone of the type mulos onikos measuring 21 cm wide, 18 cm high and 21 cm deep...It has been cut from the conical upper stone of the mill and squared off. A cavity (11 x 12 cm), the original receptacle for the beam that rotated the upper millstone, had been lined with white plaster to create a cup c.4 cm deep" (Lampinen 1999, 369).
